Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Thought to be over 3000 years old, it remains a major element in the Chinese healthcare service. It is increasingly accepted in the West, to the extent that it is covered by a number of health insurers. Acupuncture works on the “Qi”, or vital energy, that circulates in our bodies. This energy should flow smoothly through specific meridians (channels) within us. When it does not, illness and disease occur. The points used for acupuncture are where these channels come to the surface of the body. At these points, the energy can be moved, stimulated or drained by the insertion of very fine, sterile, disposable needles.

Problems benefiting from accupuncture include:

  • arthritic pain
  • skin problems
  • subfertility
  • headaches
  • frozen shoulder
  • digestion
