Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy utilises the therapeutic benefit derived from various plant oils and their interaction with an individual’s sense of smell and energy system. Essential oils are concentrated essences derived from herbs, flowers, fruits and trees, each having their own unique scent and blend of naturally occurring chemicals. Their most frequent use is in an aromatherapy massage, where they are diluted in a carrier oil and applied to the whole body. The oils are usually combined for a treatment, taking into account the client’s physical and emotional needs on the day, as well as what simply smells good to them.

Problems benefiting from aromatherapy include:

  • high stress levels
  • insomnia
  • sluggish lymph and blood circulation
  • high blood pressure
  • headaches
