I graduated from the Birmingham School of Chiropody and Podiatric Medicine ( Matthew Boulton College ) in 1992 after undertaking 3 years full time training. I am also fully trained and certified in the use of local anaesthesia and adrenaline.

I have over 16 years experience of working in both the NHS and private practice. Although all foot conditions are treated at the clinic my special interests are in diabetes, podopaediatrics (children’s gait problems) and nail surgery.

I took a sabbatical from the NHS in 1998 and went to live and work in Canada treating diabetics from Indian Reserves along with undertaking private practice duties and satellite hospital clinics. As part of my NHS duties I helped to run a diabetic screening and treatment centre. I also had a paediatric caseload. In 2000 I gave up NHS work to concentrate on private practice.

I am committed to my professional development and regularly attend courses to keep my knowledge and skills up to date.

I am a keen sportswoman and enjoy running, horse riding, skiing, all water sports and yoga.

Registration:

I am a member of The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and registered with the Health Professions Council.
The registration process for podiatrists has recently changed. Due to recent changes in legislation, common professional titles like ‘chiropodist’ and ‘podiatrist’ are now protected by law. Anyone who uses a protected title must register with the Health Professions Council (HPC). Registration with the HPC now replaces the previous system of state registration. Some podiatrists may continue to use the phrase " S.R.Ch. State registered chiropodist" after their name, but this phrase is in fact now defunct.
The phrases and letters you should now look for are:

· Registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
· M.Ch.S. Member of The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists
· F.Ch.S. Fellow of The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists
· FCPods Fellow of The College of Podiatrists of The Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists
· To verify that a practitioner is registered with the HPC you can access the HPC Online Register.
