Robert has worked in general dental practice for over 23 years. His philosophy is to help patients to gain optimum health. His special interest is holistic dentistry with orthopaedics and orthodontics.
Robert is especially interested in the holistic relationship between body and mouth, an approach particularly appealing to a growing number of people interested in relating conditions such as head, neck and back pain to their whole body, including their teeth. In fact, challenges to his own health experienced at the end of the 1980s are what spurred Robert on to a more holistic practice, even trying out new techniques and methods on himself and his family. He has an interdisciplinary approach to his work in the belief that the teeth and jaw bones align with the rest of the skeleton and when they are out of balance they can be related to an enormous number of chronic health disorders. Patients he has worked with have experienced relief from chronic headaches, neck pain and stiffness, back pain, limited mobility, ME, chronic fatigue and similar debilitating issues.
Robert also addresses the extremely contentious issue of mercury from silver fillings, infections related to root canal treatments, chronic bone infections, gum disease and tooth decay, and their relationships to general health. Further information regarding these issues can be found via the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT)
Robert is a member of a holistic dental study group based in Scotland. He is also a member of the British Society for the Study of Cranio Mendibular Disorders, the British Society of Mercury Free Dentists and the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.
Each individual needs detailed examination before any particular solutions can be offered however further information on the bite can be found at www.jawache.com and www.craniogroup.com .
Holistic Dentistry recognises that our mouth and teeth influence the rest of our body and health.
