Named after its creator Moshe Feldenkrais, (1904-1984)
an Israeli physicist and judo instructor, the method focuses on learning to increase our ease and potential in daily activities. People come to classes seeking relief from muscular tension and pain, for increased relaxation, improved performance or greater comfort and vitality.
Group lessons include easy movements on the floor or in sitting. The teacher talks you through a sequence that is like a physical riddle. Engaging your curiosity, you focus on internal sensations and with feedback from your sensations, you can release chronic tension to create new movement possibilities.
Individual lessons explore similar themes with the hands-on guidance of a teacher. Each lesson centers on a particular movement theme and how one's habits create limitations.
